Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Fridley, Minnesota, on a long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in creating and refining technical documentation for manufacturing environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality operational guidelines and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and implement updates to technical documentation.
• Edit, format, and enhance a variety of content, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and operational guidelines.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to grammatical, technical, and stylistic standards suitable for regulated manufacturing environments.
• Utilize tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and other editing software to update and refine content.
• Support efforts to improve documentation processes and practices through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review and audit existing documentation to identify areas for enhancement and maintain accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity and consistency in documentation.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
• Provide training or guidance on documentation tools and processes as needed.
• Stay updated on best practices and industry trends in technical writing and documentation.• At least 2 years of experience in technical writing or document control roles, preferably within manufacturing or regulated industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience working with organizational systems; familiarity with web-based editing platforms is a plus.
• Strong written communication skills with exceptional grammar and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud tools such as FrameMaker, Illustrator, RoboHelp, and others is advantageous.
• Familiarity with auditing practices and AP style guidelines.
• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies or AB testing processes is a bonus.
