Job Duties:

Join our leading law firm as a civil litigation Associate and put your strong analytical, research, and writing skills to work.

As a civil litigation Associate, your day will be multi-faceted, offering a blend of independent work and team collaboration.

Managing your own caseload from start to finish-drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, all while keeping a keen eye on details and deadlines.

You'll also prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, providing you with valuable courtroom experience.

Collaboration is key, and you'll work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.

Regular communication with clients will be a central part of your day, as you provide them with status updates and interim written reports on the progress of their cases.

Conduct thorough legal research, preparing memoranda to support case strategy, and working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.

Assist in trials and hearings, requiring strong advocacy skills.

Taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions will also be part of your role, making attention to detail and effective communication key attributes for success in this position.

Areas of focus will include Insurance Defense, Professional Liability, Construction, Medical Malpractice Defense, and Long-Term Care.

From day one, you'll gain meaningful, hands-on experience alongside top AV-rated attorneys.

You'll be part of a dynamic team, working on diverse and challenging cases that foster both professional growth and personal development.

Most importantly, you'll be supported by colleagues who are genuinely invested in your success and career advancement.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Connecticut State Bar, or sufficient UBE score to be admitted to the jurisdiction, are essential prerequisites.

3 to 8 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or a closely related practice area.

Clerkship experience is considered a valuable asset.

Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.

We're looking for proactive problem solvers with excellent communication and organizational abilities, who thrive both independently and in a collaborative environment.

A strong foundation in both federal and state court procedures, as well as experience in preparing and reviewing litigation documents, is essential.
