Volt is immediately hiring for an MRO Buyer in Fort Mill, SC.
As an MRO Buyer, you will:
Source, evaluate, and manage a diverse supplier base for MRO materials critical to solar PV manufacturing equipment (e.g., spare parts for wafer saws, thin-film deposition systems, testing machines, maintenance tools, safety supplies, lubricants, electrical components).
Skillfully negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve significant cost savings and establish reliable, consistent supply chains for daily maintenance requirements.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to analyze historical usage patterns, accurately forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and proactively prevent production downtime.
Ensure all MRO procurement activities strictly adhere to relevant safety (OSHA, NFPA), environmental (EPA), and industry quality (IEC standards) regulations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the Purchase Requisition (PR) to Purchase Order (PO) process.
Foster strong partnerships with maintenance, engineering, and finance teams to effectively prioritize both critical MR&O needs and strategic CAPEX initiatives.
Coordinate seamlessly with logistics and legal teams to navigate customs clearance processes, manage complex installation logistics, and ensure full contract compliance for imported equipment and materials.
Provide clear and concise regular updates to leadership regarding procurement progress, cost variances against budget, and proactive risk mitigation strategies for both MR&O and CAPEX expenditures.
Proactively identify and implement opportunities to consolidate suppliers across both MR&O and CAPEX categories, leveraging volume discounts and establishing standardized contract terms.
Ensure meticulous adherence of all procurement activities to company policies, relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP), and all applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., ITAR, EAR for imported equipment).
Prepare comprehensive performance reports detailing achieved cost savings, on-time delivery metrics, and asset utilization rates for both operational and capital purchases.This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in both MR&O and CAPEX procurement, with a strong preference for experience within manufacturing (ideally solar PV, semiconductor, or other heavy industrial sectors).
Success in managing high-value CAPEX projects, including all aspects of vendor selection, contract negotiation, and seamless project coordination.
Strategic thinker with the ability to effectively balance immediate operational maintenance needs with long-term capital investment objectives.
Highly detail-oriented with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively address supply chain disruptions and complex contractual issues.
Adaptable and flexible to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving renewable energy environment with shifting priorities.Salary: $66,000 - $89,000 per year.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
