Sr. Quality Engineer
***This role will be based in Milwaukee, WI***
This position leads product quality initiatives using quality engineering tools and product inspections at the MTU factory or at strategic business partner locations.
Key Accountabilities:
Oversee the quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
Provide technical guidance to implement quality control plans.
Ensure quality audits of production and operations are completed.
Review and analyze the PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis) process for trends and prevention methods.
Develop long-range corrective measures through root-cause analysis using 8D/A3 methodology.
Resolve non-conformances, including customer complaints and internal improvement opportunities.
Lead product inspections in line with quality control plans.
Provide accurate and timely data to management regarding quality concerns.
Keep management abreast of progress, developments, and pending problems.
Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
Perform special projects as required
Required:
Bachelors' degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing engineering plus 5 years quality engineering with large industrial equipment or 9 years quality engineering with large industrial equipment.
Excellent knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of large industrial equipment.
Excellent knowledge of quality control, raw materials, manufacturing processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of large industrial equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork
Ability to work flexible hours or shifts
Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
Preferred:
Knowledge of NFPA 70, NEC, UL 2200 and CSA.
Familiar with plant operations and equipment
Knowledge of MTU components and products
Knowledge of genset performance requirements
Knowledge of gauge and test equipmen
