Experienced Auto Body Shop Clerk

Job Description

Richmond Volvo is seeking an experienced Body Shop Clerk to perform a wide range of administrative and office support duties. Duties include but not limited to:

Provide first-rate customer service greeting customers and answering phones

Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess repair needs and costs.

Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for repairs, including parts and labor.

Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process and answer any questions.

Collaborate with technicians to ensure all necessary repairs are identified and included in the estimate.

Coordinate with insurance companies to provide necessary documentation and facilitate claims processing.

Process accounts receivable for body repair work

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Filing and other office duties

Assist Body Shop Manager with various duties

Position is training step for Estimator.

The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, some post secondary education (degree, coursework, or certification), three years of experience in a similar position; strong administrative, organizational, and computer skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills. Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience in auto body repair or estimating.

Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and parts.

Experience with estimating software and tools.

Previous customer service experience in the automotive industry.
