Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Social Media Engagement Specialist to manage and operate multiple user identities (IDs) across various social media platforms. This individual will be responsible for creating and coordinating targeted engagement strategies to raise awareness, support campaigns, and cultivate online communications and advocacy around specific topics or initiatives in an organic process.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, manage, and maintain multiple social media identities (10+) across platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others.
Monitor current events, trends, and relevant conversations around specific local city and project related items and to identify opportunities for real-time engagement.
Participate in online discussions, forums, and threads under varied personas to build credibility and amplify messaging.
Develop and execute coordinated engagement campaigns that build momentum and visibility for assigned topics or initiatives.
Craft and post engaging, authentic content and replies that align with each ID’s voice and strategic objectives.
Track engagement metrics, provide regular reporting, and optimize tactics based on data and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with platform policies and maintain ethical standards in online interactions.
Work closely with internal teams (marketing, public relations, campaign leads) to align messaging and strategy.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in social media management, online community engagement, or digital advocacy.
Strong understanding of internet culture, meme dynamics, and online conversation flows.
Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different personas.
Ability to multitask, manage multiple identities, and stay organized under pressure.
Familiarity with social listening tools, scheduling platforms, and analytics dashboards.
Discretion, professionalism, and an understanding of digital ethics and platform guidelines.
Preferred:
Background in political advocacy, marketing, grassroots organizing, or digital PR.
Experience with bot/hybrid automation tools for engagement (within terms of service).
Understanding of misinformation/disinformation trends and counter-strategy practices.
