We are seeking a Mold & Tooling Technician to join the team in Valdosta, GA Status of hire: Full time/direct hire Industry: glass bottle manufacturing Rotating 12 hour shift Responsibilities: The Mold Tooling Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of all mold equipment and for maintaining the integrity of the Mold process in the plant.
Read and understand engineering tool and mold drawings and schematics Build and repair close tolerance tools and mold components.
Working knowledge of the glass molding process Ability to operate band saws, drill press, CNC mills, manual lathes, and grinders Analyzes specifications, grind/fabricate and repairs molds, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures Read Blueprints, use Micrometers, Calipers and Comparator Make tooling repairs and spot tools for proper fit Maintain tooling systems Maintain assembly line fixtures and spare parts inventory Read blueprints & work with precise tolerances Trouble shooting maintenance repair and fabrication of machine parts, molds, etc.
Test machine parts to precision tolerance and specified finishes Strong diagnostic skills required Inspect mold equipment against specifications and blueprints Inspect and repair new and used Mold equipment using gauges and other equipment as necessary.

Requirements: Technical Education or equivalent work experience required 1 year glass experience preferred 5 years of experience in similar position preferred Committed to continuous learning.
