Job Description
Design and establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible manufacturing process parameters and process controls. Lead team in selecting, implementing, and maintaining efficient manufacturing equipment and procedures for assigned product(s). Utilize knowledge of DFM processes, reporting and tools. Provide leadership in customer quality and efficiency efforts by directing support teams to improve cycle times and reduce defects. Determine and specify, revise and review the most economic methods, operation sequence and tooling for the manufacture of Print Circuit Assemblies. Provide technical guidance and liaison to product operations, assist the supervisor on new techniques and assist in the determination of root causes of rejected parts and their disposition. Ensure root cause analysis translates into process improvements when appropriate. Coordinate with customers to determine product specifications and design changes. Lead in cost studies and equipment, process and chemistry recommendations. Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Develop and lead manufacturing engineering projects. Manage schedule, budget, and specifications. Act as a mentor to junior engineering professionals. Travel within the U.S. and Mexico up to 30%.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related engineering field.
Experience: Two years of experience in:
Design and validation of SMT stencils and wave solder pallets, including manual assembly and wave solder machine;
Validation of SMT processes, including solder paste printing, pick and place, and reflow oven processes;
Design and validation of conformal coating tooling and potting tooling;
Validation of conformal coating process, including material dispensing and curing process;
Establishment of robust, repeatable, and reproducible manufacturing process parameters;
Lead team in selecting, implementing, and maintaining efficient manufacturing equipment and procedures for assigned products;
Determine, specify, revise, and review economic methods, operation sequences, and tooling for the manufacture of PCBAs;
Provide technical guidance to product operations and technical support on the manufacture of PCBAs; and
Coordinate with customers to determine product specifications and design changes.
Certification: Requires IPC 610 certification.
