East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1,950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Position Summary:
The Special Education Assessment Specialist will support the district’s special education evaluation needs. This is a part-time, at-will position with a flexible schedule, ideal for a licensed special education professional seeking supplemental work. The Assessment Specialist will conduct evaluations for students referred for special education, including administering and scoring standardized assessments and completing evaluation reports.
Essential Duties:
Administer and interpret a variety of standardized assessment tools related to special education eligibility
Complete written evaluation reports in alignment with Minnesota eligibility criteria
Maintain professional communication with staff and families
Ensure confideniality and maintain compliance with state standards and district policies

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for students referred for special education
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the evaluation process
Score assessments and summarize results in clear, compliant reports
Manage workload independently within a flexible schedule
Qualifications:
Current Minnesota teaching license in Special Education
Experience conducting assessments and writing evaluation reports
Strong knowledge of special education due process procedures
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
