BASES (Before and After School Extended Services)
Hours: 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. plus approx. 1 hour off site planning time daily

Job Description:
EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to work in the BASES (Before and After School Extended Services) After School Program at Harwinton Consolidated School, Harwinton, CT. The qualified candidate will be professional, working toward or already possess a minimum of 12 college credits in elementary education, early childhood education or a related field, have experience working with elementary school-aged children, or have the ability to complete Office of Early Childhood Head Teacher Certification Course (approx. 40 hours online) and have 540 working hours experience with children. Candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be available during after-school hours (3:00 pm-6:00 pm). The Site Coordinator works under the supervision of the BASES Administrative Team.
Major Responsibilities:
Coordinate the daily operation of the after-school program
Supervise children and provide a safe, welcoming environment
Understand, follow and maintain all licensing regulations set by the state of CT Office of Early Childhood
Maintain positive relationships with families, children, and school personnel
Maintain student registration system and paperwork
Daily set up and clean up of program site
Attend mandatory Site Coordinator and Staff meetings as scheduled (usually evenings)
First Aid/CPR/Meds Admin certification to be acquired within 3 months of hire
Other duties as may be assigned
Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position Qualifications:
Must have 12 credits in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field and 540 working hours with children OR complete the OEC Head Teacher Certification course online (approx 40 hrs) and have 540 working hours experince with children.
Must be present 5 days a week and/or 70% of the hours site in operation.
Working towards or possess a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a related field (i.e. social work, education, psychology)
At least 540 hours experience working with Elementary School Aged Children
Knowledge of Child Development
Awareness of Age-Appropriate curriculum activities
Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Physical Requirements:
