Learning Services and the Instructional Technology Coordinator ensure equitable access to instructional technology, provides staff professional development, and promotes effective, innovative use of digital tools to advance student learning.
Internship Position Description:
As an Instructional Technology intern, you will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of education and technology. This internship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with the Instructional Technology Coordinator on real-world projects that impact students and teachers district-wide.
Primary deliverables include:
Designing and building a functional chatbot to assist users in navigating and using instructional technology tools.
Re-envisioning and restructuring the District Resource Center (DRC) instructional resources web pages, with a strategic plan for future updates and improvements.
Collaboratively reviewing and updating the district’s instructional tool adoption request Google Form based on internal feedback from the Instructional Technology Team.
Interns will also observe and participate in professional discussions about effective technology integration, user-centered design in educational settings, and continuous improvement cycles.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and/or Interests Desired in Applicants:
Applicants must be enrolled in the Naperville District 203 Summer Learning Program, pursuing a pathway diploma endorsement, preference will be given to a student in the IT: Programming and Software Development pathway.
Experience or a strong interest in exploring the use of AI in developing chatbots to enhance users' understanding and application of knowledge, skills, and abilities related to instructional technology tools is highly desirable.
Interest in computer science, education technology, or user experience (UX) design.
Familiarity with website editing tools (e.g., Google Sites or WordPress) and form tools (e.g., Google Forms).
Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or chatbot frameworks) is a plus.
Experience or a strong interest in exploring the use of AI in developing chatbots to enhance users' understanding and application of knowledge, skills, and abilities related to instructional technology tools is highly desirable.
Creative problem-solving and design thinking skills.
Attention to detail and ability to communicate ideas clearly.
Willingness to collaborate and receive feedback.
Physical Demand(s) of Position:
Primarily computer-based work; must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
Type of Internship: Hybrid - combination of in-person and remote work as determined by supervisor.
