Job Posting: Locum Tenens Cardiologist at local NC Hospital

Atlas Locum Tenens is currently seeking a General Cardiologist to provide coverage in Western North Carolina. This is an ongoing search with long-term potential with immediate need for coverage, with potential dates through April 1, 2026, and more to be added as other providers submit their availability.

Position Details:

Title: Locum Tenens Cardiologist

Specialty: Internal Medicine Cardiology

Facility Type: hospital

Start Date: ASAP

Coverage Needed: Ongoing

Hours: Schedule consists of 24-hour call, with daily clinic hours (Monday through Friday).

Call: No call required for daily clinic hours; call availability for hospital as needed

Competitive Rates

Daily Expectations Include:

Hospital rounding and consults (onsite hospitalists will admit and bed patients, and consult as necessary)

Reporting and reading diagnostic tests such as EKGs and ECHOs

2-4 hours of outpatient clinic work (Monday through Friday)

Call availability for hospital as needed

Qualifications:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine Cardiology

Experience with McKesson Paragon system (preferred)

Chest pain accreditation experience (preferred)

Must be available to work the required call shifts and clinic hours

Ability to provide both inpatient and outpatient care as needed

Telehealth: Yes

Inpatient/Outpatient: Both inpatient and outpatient care expected, with a strong focus on outpatient clinics
