Description:

15E James - Acute Leukemia and Hematology - 12 Hour D/N rotating or Nights - NO CHEMO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED!

Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)

Facility: James Cancer Hospital and Research

First Time travelers: NO

Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required

Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses: Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients

Staffing Ratios: Goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5

Weekends: Variable based on unit needs

Schedule: No set/blocked scheduling. Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing.

Orientation: First week: Mon-Fri dayshift. Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Special Focus:

• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols

• Patient falls prevention

Certifications Required:

• BLS

• ACLS

Certifications Preferred:

•ONS Chemo Cert

• NIHSS

Skills Required:

• MS/Tele

• Telemetry

• Interpretation of dysrhythmias

• Telemetry monitoring

• Use of Rapid Response Teams

• Feeding tube care and management

• IV therapy/Phlebotomy

• Blood Product Administration

• Central line blood draw

• Peripheral Line Care/Management

• PICC line management

• Starting IVs

Computerized Charting: EPIC

Total Hourly Pay Rate: $ 60.44 Per Hour

On W2(Taxable): $ 20.00 Per Hour

Stipend(Non-Taxable): $ 40.44 Per Hour

Weekly Breakdown:

Weekly Gross: $ 2,176.00 Per Week

On W2(Taxable): $ 720.00 Per Week

Stipend(Non-Taxable): $ 1,456.00 Per Week
