Description:
Inspect and test control enclosures, electrical assemblies and machines to ensure they meet the customer’s requirements and are built to the appropriate quality and safety standards. Monitor the quality of incoming raw and manufactured material and in-house manufactured parts. Keep the calibrations status of the tools used in manufacturing and assembly up to date. Build enclosures and/or wire panels as time allows.
Responsibilities - Electrical
Study drawings, design specifications, bill of materials and electrical schematics
Checking dimensions against the drawings
Inspecting work for good quality, ensuring proper terminations, no frays, proper wire sizing, correct labelling
Ring out wiring per the electrical schematics
Power up enclosures where possible, checking voltages and proper operation of devices.
Documenting inspection results
Organize ship loose components
Ensure enclosures and panels meet customer specifications and safety before turning over to shipping and receiving
Ensure gauges used during the electrical assembly and testing process are up to date on calibrations
Reject all materials and parts that fail to meet quality expectations and report the issue to the concerned department at the earliest
Resolving quality-related issues adhering to deadlines
Providing training to the quality assurance team
Design an efficient design protocol which can be used across all product lines
Prepare documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed reports and performance records
Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met
Guide the production team about the quality control issues to enhance the quality of the product
Monitor customer satisfaction levels
Follow all procedures and work instructions with in our IMS system related to this job description
Responsibilities - Mechanical
Study drawings, design specifications, bill of materials and assembly prints
Checking dimensions and other requirements against the drawings for in-house manufactured parts, outside raw material, manufactured and processed parts
Inspecting work for good quality through the use of in process checks, final inspection during the build and shipping phases
Documenting inspection results
Ensure gauges used during mechanical assembly, machining and testing process are up to date on calibrations
Reject all materials and parts that fail to meet quality expectations and report the issue to the concerned department at the earliest

Providing training to the quality assurance team

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Ability to apply logical and methodical approach to tasks
Good observation skills and ability to pay attention to details
Requires basic computer skills Knowledge of industry standards and practices as they relate to control enclosure/panel assembly, wiring, and safety
Knowledge of industrial electrical components such as contactors, relays, disconnects, enclosures, VFD’s, PLC’s, etc.
Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, UL, CSA, CE codes
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings, design specifications and bill of materials
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and other related equipment
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy and different type of machinery for inspection purposes
Requires basic math skills essential in measuring and determining the material is in spec
Must be familiar with electrical and mechanical gauges used in the testing and measurement process like meters, rulers, calipers, micrometers
Experience in the following programs/processes is required
Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Adobe Reader and/or Acrobat
Experience in the following programs/processes is not required, but a plus
AutoCad
Solidworks
CMM
Six Sigma
