Description
The Post-doctoral Fellow will be engaged in basic and translational research projects,.and will specialize in the investigation of novel therapeutic targeting in metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer and renal cancer towards overcoming advanced disease. The Kyprianou lab is NIH and DoD funded and is well established in the field of translational research. The fellow will use a wide array of techniques including immunohistochemistry, pre-clinical PDX models, transgenic mouse models, molecular biology techniques and bioinformatics to define the underlying mechanisms of emergence of metastatic therapeutically resistant tumors.
Responsibilities
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in tumor biology or have gained some expertise in the area since graduation. The Post-doctoral fellow should have experience in the use of mouse models, histology, FACS analysis and DNA, RNA and protein isolation and analysis, including RNASeq and Chip-Seq. The Post-doctoral fellow should be highly motivated, willing to receive mentoring, work well with other team members and immerse himself/herself in the ongoing research of the laboratory. In addition, the potential candidate must have strong writing and communication skills and be eager to present scientific results at national and international meetings.
