We are currently seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our team in Aurora, IL and support Resideo by delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Resideo's next generation safety sensors by designing, testing, and validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. JOB DUTIES:

Lead hardware design based on marketing requirements, including sensor design, system solutions, cost evaluation, and risk mitigation

Own schematic design, review PCB layouts, release BOMs, and drive the hardware release process

Assist in product and process certification for customer acceptance

Collaborate with fellow engineers, technicians, and associates to develop and produce new products

Assist with regulatory submissions (UL, ETL, FCC, IC, PTCRB, CE) and resolve related hardware issues

Present to leadership and external customers

Consult with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance

Establish and follow methodologies for new or existing concepts

Identify opportunities and propose technical improvements by applying advanced electrical engineering knowledge and principles

Suggest enhancements to advance projects

YOU MUST HAVE:

5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on sensor development, and product design

4+ years in schematic design and PCB layout review, with completed product designs released to production (Altium, Mentor Graphics, or Cadence preferred)

Proven history of interfacing between electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers on projects at the global level

Familiarity with regulatory requirements for safety, security, water, and air sensor products

The ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions

Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences

Capability to follow guidelines and ensure efficiency on given project tasks

The ability to consistently make timely decisions and balance systematic analysis with decisiveness in an ambiguous environment
