Job Description
The Journeyman Toolmaker plays a key role in ensuring efficiency and reliability of press equipment and tooling. This position involves diagnosing and resolving tooling issues, collaborating with various departments, and performing preventative maintenance to sustain high press efficiency and part quality.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot presses to maintain production.
Setup jobs to run production to standards.
Update tool books and required process paperwork.
Maintain and improve part quality.
Promote safety and housekeeping.
Assist in machine preventative maintenance and identify maintenance problems.
Report tooling problems to work team or team leaders when appropriate.
Maintain tooling and equipment according to Trans-Matic standards.
Assist in developing new tooling/prototypes as needed.
Work aggressively towards setup time reduction.
Work as an effective team member.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
A journeyman’s card as an eyelet tool & die maker or equivalent experience.
Background in a metal forming industry preferred.
Ability to read blueprints.
Knowledge of GD&T.
Ability to operate crane and fork truck.

HOURS/SHIFTS
1st Shift - Currently working a 4/10 shift, Monday-Thursday - 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
2nd Shift - Currently working a 4/10 shift, Monday - Thursday - 3:00 pm - 1:00 am
3rd Shift - Currently working a 4/10 shift, Tuesday-Friday - 9:00 pm - 7:00 am
* Schedules are subject to change to a 5/8 hour shift based on future needs.
* Night-Shift Premium paid for 2nd & 3rd shift
