Accounting Assistant

Job Description

Accountants One is looking for an Accounting Assistant for a local commercial Construction company. They will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to the accounting department, clients, vendors, and employees. 100% in the office located at the Cobb Galleria area in Marietta.

Job Responsibilities:

Process and review pay applications submitted by subcontractors and suppliers to verify accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and project specifications.

Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary documentation and supporting details for pay applications, including progress reports, invoices, and lien waivers.

Maintain organized records of pay applications, invoices, change orders, and other relevant financial documents.

Prepare pay application packages for submission to clients, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all required documentation.

Coordinate with internal and external parties to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to pay applications in a timely manner.

Generate reports and updates on pay application status, budget vs. actual costs, and project financial performance as needed.

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, including reconciliation of pay application amounts with project budgets and forecasts.

Stay informed about industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends related to pay applications and construction accounting.

Provide support during audits and compliance reviews by compiling requested documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred.

At least two years of experience in accounting, preferably in construction or a related field, with a focus on pay applications preferred.

Knowledge of finance, accounting, taxes, and related principles and practices.
