Warehouse & Materials Associate

Summary:

This hands-on position is responsible for a range of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling duties within the warehouse and production areas. The role supports logistics operations, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures timely movement and storage of materials to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and verify incoming shipments by comparing items to purchase orders, packing slips, or other documentation. Accurately count, weigh, or measure materials.

Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and secure loading to prevent damage in transit.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to load/unload and transport materials within the facility.

Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipping/receiving logs, and product transfers in ERP or inventory systems.

Pick, pack, and stage orders per work instructions, including specialized tasks like assembling surgical kits or handling sensitive materials.

Collaborate with operations teams to check product availability and ensure customer requirements are met.

Store materials according to procedures, including human tissue or regulated products, ensuring compliance with safety and documentation protocols.

Respond to temperature monitoring alerts and follow established guidelines for the safe handling of sensitive goods.

Assist in maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked workspaces in shipping, receiving, and storage areas.

Build and assemble shipping crates or banded bundles as needed for outgoing products.

Support additional logistics or production tasks as required to maintain workflow efficiency.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or 6–12 months of relevant experience preferred.

Comfortable using ERP systems, scanners, and basic office software (MS Office, etc.).

Forklift certification or willingness to train; ability to safely lift and handle heavy materials.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Familiarity with shipping systems such as UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight a plus.

Commitment to safety and compliance with material handling procedures.
