Control Panel Designer

Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Builder to support the design and build of industrial control panels for manufacturing automation projects. This role requires expertise in electrical design, power and safety circuit development, and collaboration with PLC and HMI programming teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical and a strong background in industrial control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and build industrial control panels in support of PLC and HMI programming projects.

Create power and control system layouts, including circuit protection and safety system integration.

Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), coordinate with vendors, and support procurement activities.

Assist in project scheduling and provide installation support during system deployment.

Develop electrical designs for process, material handling, and delivery systems.

Produce detailed network and communication system drawings.

Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements.

Collaborate with engineers and programmers to ensure seamless system integration.

Required Experience & Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for panel and electrical system design.

Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs including ControlLogix and CompactLogix platforms.

Familiarity with Rockwell Drives and related hardware integration.

Strong understanding of power calculations, circuit protection, and safety circuit design.

Experience producing electrical schematics for complex industrial systems.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
