Job Description

Since 1994, G & S Manufacturing., LLC has been welding and fabricating industrial metal structures and parts for industries throughout the United States! Some of the industries that we serve include mining, coal, agriculture, health, and dust collection.

We take pride in having a clean and well-maintained shop. All equipment follows a regular maintenance schedule. Because of our growth, and our desire to provide the best service to our customers, we are looking to hire a Maintenance Technician. This position is a full-time, hourly position, Monday through Friday, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm located in Courtland, MN. This is a safety sensitive position.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment, machinery, and buildings are in top operating condition. Our equipment is modern and up to date. Some examples of the equipment would be forklifts, cranes, beam lines, shears, press brakes, saws, and numerous welding specific machines.

Primary Responsibilities

Perform routine mechanical preventive maintenance to ensure that the machine continues to run smoothly. Example: greasing, changing belts, checking/changing fluid levels, checking batteries, and replacing filters.

Strong technical knowledge of hydraulics, small machines and engines, vehicles.

Building Maintenance (air lines, ducts, air filters, repair buildings as needed, sidewalk and exit door snow removal and lawn care).

Perform daily/weekly/monthly cleanup tasks.

Maintains accurate preventative maintenance records.

Follows safety standards, OSHA, etc.

Additional Responsibilities

Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes.

Electrical Repairs

Projects involving equipment setup, parts procurement, etc.

Pickup and deliveries with gooseneck trailer.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Work Experience

1. Minimum of two years of post-secondary education or experience in a similar role.

2. Mechanical knowledge and aptitude required, especially on small engines, hydraulics etc., 1 year preferred.

3. Electrical Experience – 1 year experience preferred.

4. Pneumatics – 1 year experience preferred.

5. Class ‘D’ driver’s license

6. Welding Experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Prior maintenance, mechanical, electrical experience preferred.

Strong mechanical background, critical thinking skills and ability to learn new machinery quickly.

Must be dependable, cooperative, with high attention to detail and be able to work independently.

Able to work with hands in mechanical oriented situations.

Able to follow verbal and written instructions.

This position does require being on your feet most of the day, standing, bending, and crawling under equipment. Must be able to handle heights of up to 35’. You must be able to lift (50) pounds comfortably, wear a respirator when needed, and pass a physical exam, respirator test and a drug & alcohol test. This is a safety sensitive position.

Wage is based off experience. Full-time
