SUMMARY This position provides technical support to all users and systems within the City of Angleton.

Must be able to distinguish IT safety and security matters and make sound decisions regarding all IT matters.
Gathers information and data for various IT projects to increase user efficiency; creates new and updated workplace tools Presents IT information and guidance that could lead to actionable events or purchases Provides information and guidance on how to complete departmental tasks from a technological perspective, effectively Enforces IT policies and procedures Answers calls for tech support; responds to emergency calls or emails for support Implements IT projects for departments within the City as directed Installs and upgrades software for users and vendors; performs upkeep, management, and administration of IT systems Delivers and installs purchased equipment and recommends the purchase of various equipment and software Creates training documentation for users; speaks to groups of co-workers regarding training and answers questions Performs related work as assigned.

Education and/or Experience The position requires an associate's degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to completing two years of college and two years of experience in information technology or a closely related field.
Public entity experience is highly desirable.
Or High school diploma/GED with five or more years of hands-on experience in information technology instead of a degree Required License Valid Class C Driver's License in good standing, and must be able to maintain.
