CNC/Mill/Lathe Machinist and Programmer

Job Description

Dedicated Personnel is currently seeking applicants for 1st and 2nd shift CNC Machinist in the Birmingham Area and Fairfield areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Operates and sets-up a variety of machine tool equipment including power mill, lathe, numerically controlled machine tools and other hand and power equipment of similar complexity

Secures and fixtures raw stock of material into machine, squares material prior to running program if necessary, and monitors the operating of the machine to ensure proper program performance

Ensures machine and area around machine is kept as clean as practical

Perform machine changeovers and change tool inserts as needed

Loads programs into CNC machine and executes program cutting of the material

Deburs completed machine parts as time allows

Operates CNC machine in a safe manner

Perform Quality Control Characteristics documentation of tolerance zones specified on blueprints

Notifies supervisor or lead of major malfunctions or when machine maintenance is needed

Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools

CNC Machine Operator Qualifications

Machine operation and gauging

Production requirements and process documentation

Basic math/read tape measure

Proper use and care of precision measurement tools

Desired experience for CNC machine operator includes:

Responsible for reporting the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware

Must reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and required to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine

Expected to follow safe working practices, obey rules and regulations, and work in a way that maintains the high safety and health standards developed and sanctioned by the company

Monitor and maintain CNC equipment, manual and automatic gauging systems, robots, gantrys and material handling systems operations

Perform adjustments to machines and tooling to keep parts within allowable tolerances

Operation of robots and gantrys as necessary

Must be able to run a minimum of 3 Axis mills or more

Must have 5 years experience in machine tool & tie or machine tech.Company Description
