Registered Nurse (RN)
SIGN-ON BONUS: up to $7,500
SHIFT: ALL SHIFTS (Days, Evenings, Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem, Weekend Warrior, Overnights)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Registered Nurse may supervise duties performed by LPNs and CNAs in a team care setting under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, and Director of Nursing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct care and treatment to long-term and rehabilitation resident
Provide assessment and documentation of residents under their care
Initiates and administers Intravenous treatments
Communicate with the Nursing team and medical team as appropriate
Review and evaluate the resident care plan
Transcribes Physician orders
May assist in orientating new staff
Maintains competency in all site-specific tasks required by the facility
Work closely with the RN Supervisor to ensure the best possible functions of the assigned unit
Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Prepares, administers, and records prescribed medications
Records patients’ medical information and vital signs
Assesses the patient's ability to do routine daily tasks
Recognizes and manages geriatric syndromes common to older adults, including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, hematological, musculoskeletal, endocrine, neurological, psychiatric/psychosocial, integumentary, sensory, and pain problems
Prepares equipment and aids the physician during the examination and treatment of the patient
Communicate with family members regarding the patient
Records all care information concisely, accurately, and entirely, promptly, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms
Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree from an accredited school of nursing
A current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York requires
Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
