POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Student Success plays a vital role in leading the accommodation process and providing essential support for students seeking academic, housing, and other accommodations. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of accommodations to foster student success. Additionally, the Assistant Director contributes to campus wide retention initiatives, including supporting supplemental instruction, on-campus testing, and working with Scot Support Network alerts.
SUPERVISON RECEIVED/SUPERVISON EXERCISED:
This position reports to the director of academic support & first year retention and has no supervisor responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: may include, but not limited to, the following:
Serve as the leader of Disability Services for all Alma College students, managing the process of accommodation request intake and providing support to students seeking academic accommodations, housing accommodations, and emotional support animals.
Meet with prospective students seeking information about accommodation and academic support resources through one-on-one meetings, tableting events, and admissions presentations.
Serve as the leader the Housing Accommodations Committee, facilitating weekly meetings to review housing accommodations.
Communicate with campus partners (faculty and applicable departments) about approved accommodations.
Oversee the process and provide support for students seeking supplemental instruction, test proctoring, and note-taking.
Support outreach for alerts submitted through the Scot Support Network, students with mid-term grade concerns, and students on academic jeopardy and probation.
Serve as the advisor to the Transfer Living Learning Committee.
Manage data tracking and produce monthly, end-of semester, and end-of year reports to gauge the effectiveness of supplemental instruction, test proctoring, and note-taking services.
Provide test proctoring and oversee test room reservations.
Teach two sections of ACP 100 (1 credit/class) each term to eligible students.
Develop and present sessions about academic support services and study skills to students.
Partner with Career and Personal Development to implement the First Destination survey.
Engage in committee within the Division of Student Affairs and across campus where appropriate and necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
Experience in a higher education setting or working with college students
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree
Previous experience in Disability Support Services
Previous experience working with student retention software
Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations
