Network OperationsSummary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the campus network. The primary support responsibilities including: Administration of network management systems, monitoring network performance, switch and router installation, wiring closet management, and troubleshooting of network problems.
Administers network diagnosis and network management hardware, software, and related equipment.
Monitors and maintains network documentation, network material and supply inventories.
Responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and management reporting of communications network problems.
Utilizes software and hardware network management tools for problem isolation and resolution.
Installs network related hardware and software including network interface cards, switches, and routers.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
Requires good interpersonal skills and good organization skills.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Experience supporting computer networks, network cabling, and network management software preferred.
