Mechanical Engineer

Qualifications:

BSME, 5 to 7 yearsâ experience.

Experience in Biotech Instrumentation or Medical Devices industries.

SolidWorks, PDMWorks, EPDM, FEA experience is a plus (Consol, Abaqus, SWx Simulation).

Proven experience in the thermal design of complex electro-mechanical systems, preferably within the medical device or life sciences industry.

Strong familiarity with heat transfer principles (conduction, convection, radiation) and components (fans, heat sinks, liquid cooling).

General understanding of electro mechanical packaging to facilitate air flow and cooling.

Familiarity with fabrication processes (machining, molding) and assembly and test processes.

Responsibilities:

Support the thermal design of blood analyzer instruments and their sub-systems, considering factors such as heat generation, dissipation, temperature control, and thermal stability.

Develop and implement thermal management strategies to ensure optimal instrument performance and reliability within specified operating conditions.

Design and oversee the fabrication and testing of thermal prototypes and experimental setups to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.

Select and integrate thermal components such as heat sinks, fans, thermoelectric coolers (TECs), and temperature sensors.

Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of thermal solutions with other instrument subsystems.

Develop and maintain comprehensive thermal design documentation, including specifications, analysis reports, and test procedures.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise on thermal-related issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve thermal performance issues during development, verification, and validation phases.
