About the Role

The Principal Management Assistant Confidential serves as a key administrative partner to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), providing strategic and confidential support. The role includes managing communications, coordinating projects and events, preparing high-level reports, and overseeing daily operations within the CHRO’s office.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Overseeing and maintaining the calendar of the Chief Human Resources Officer, including scheduling meetings, conferences, travel, vacation, and holiday time. Oversee record-keeping, filing, and document retrieval systems for the CHRO’s office, ensuring they are organized and up to date.

Managing all aspects of planning and executing HR-Sponsored events, from initial conception to post-event analysis. This includes managing budgets, coordinating vendors, volunteers, marketing the event, and ensuring a smooth, successful experience for management and employees.

Serving as a liaison for the CHRO’s office and other UH departments, outside agencies, and partners. Initiates and responds to correspondence related to these functions and attends meetings as requested by the CHRO.

Responding to complex information requests by researching, analyzing, and proposing effective administrative solutions. Continuously evaluates office procedures and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and eliminate unnecessary processes within the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Independently manages assigned projects from initiation to completion. Preparing supporting materials including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and other professional documentation as needed.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting an executive leader in human resources, healthcare, or a similarly fast-paced, confidential setting required.

Proficient skill level in Microsoft Suite.

Deliver exceptional customer service and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, stay organized, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The expected salary range for this position is [$71,201 – $106,000] per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
