THE POSITION Project Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Dublin, OH: Coordinate with R&D team to execute vehicle testing at customer sites for products such as Body Control Modules, Key Fobs, Wireless Seatbelt Reminder Transceivers, and Telematics.
Address technical requests or concerns raised by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) including Honda and Subaru.
Coordinate with OEMs to investigate reported issues.
Execute applicable test scenarios and use cases to replicate the problem and extract the necessary log information for further analysis.
Reprogram Electronic Control Units for sample delivery using a special wire harness, Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic Tool, Vector CANoe Tool for Body Control Modules and Transponder Evaluation and Development Kit 2 (TED-Kit 2) for Wireless Seatbelt Reminder Transceivers.
Support Quick Response Action (QRA) at car dealerships together with customer by collecting data logs using Qualcomm tools, memory dumps, and other valuable information in the vehicle, and processing it for further analysis.
Design and implement improvement projects for testing (vehicle or bench) including Digital Switch Modules and Data Acquisition Modules to further improve the Automated testing on the bench as well as become more efficient during Vehicle Testing at the customer site.
Define product requirements together with OEMs including Body Control Module, Key Fobs, Wireless Seatbelt Reminder and Telematics.
Review Drawings for OEM submission and approval which will be implemented by Manufacturing Plant for Body Control Modules, Key Fobs and Wireless Seatbelt Reminder Transceiver.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40%. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of work experience in the automotive industry.
Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Automotive electronic systems and technical problem-solving; Technical writing; Utilizing computer, oscilloscope, and application-specific automotive and engineering test equipment; Working on a global team of at least 5 people; and Working in time-sensitive, high-pressure environment(s) to meet established schedules/SLAs.
Domestic travel required up to 20%. Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
is required.
