Suburban Emergency Medical Services is a leader in EMS in the Lehigh Valley and Monroe County, PA. We employ approximately 140 employees, operating under a progressive customer service and growth model. Today, we serve a population of 132,038 across a primary district that spans 232 square miles in 19 different municipalities.
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Shift Supervisor is an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic who coordinates the daily operations of the crew before, during, and after emergency and non-emergency calls or transports. They supervise crews during designated shift hours to ensure that their response to emergency calls and non-emergency transports complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and Suburban EMS policies.
Operational Essential Functions:
Directs crew operations.
Coordinates with the Dispatcher to determine the rotation of calls among available crews during a shift and assists the Dispatcher in assigning calls to the crew when necessary
Assigns duties and responsibilities to all available staff at the beginning of each shift.
Coach crew members on trip sheet compliance and other procedures as needed.
Participates in orientation and training for new employees and volunteers.
Assigns radios and phones to crews.
Oversees maintenance of narcotics and logs.
Notifies the Operations Manager of any operational issue, emergency, or potentially destructive incident
Supervises the facility's housekeeping.
Reassigns crew staff as necessary for operational efficiency.
Disciplines staff when appropriate, in collaboration with the Operations Manager and the Director of Operations.
Performs all job responsibilities in a manner that protects patient privacy, in accordance with Suburban EMS’s Privacy Policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider
Education, Experience, and Training:
Should have a minimum of a high school education. Those with a GED equivalent will be considered.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an EMT or Paramedic field provider.
Current state EMT certification or higher.
Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license.
EVOC certification

AHA BLS Provider CertificationRequirements:
