Position Summary: Clinical nursing faculty responsible for supervision of pre-licensure
clinical course in accordance with the course syllabi and College of
Nursing and affiliate agency guidelines.

Providing for continuous evaluation of courses and clinical facilities to determine if clinical objectives are met; or evaluating the effectiveness of courses and affiliate agencies associated with the healthcare advocacy minor. Interpreting the philosophy, objectives, and policies of the College of Nursing to faculty and students. Coordinate clinical activities with the College and affiliating agencies; Recognizing and informing the Course Coordinator and/or Level Coordinator of existing or potential student-faculty problems; Conducting level meetings twice per academic term; Submitting course report and grade books at the end of the semester.
Selecting clinical experiences in accordance with sound principles of learning; Arranging for the preparation of class and clinical schedules and their dissemination; Attending annual agency meeting with faculty to negotiate clinical request; Evaluating educational resources.
Teaching in classroom and/or clinical areas as indicated; collecting clinical facility evaluations and reviewing for selection of future clinical experiences; Submitting attestation forms to clinical agencies.
Participate in scholarly and community activities consistent with the mission and goals of the University, College of Nursing and profession by attending College of Nursing professional development offers or other relevant nursing professional development activities. Demonstrating self-directedness in the pursuit of continual learning activities;
Qualifications
Must have at least masters in nursing. Doctorate in nursing or related field preferred and certification in specialty area and a minimum of two years in higher education experience preferred. Must have licensure with the State of Louisiana or a compact RN license. Possesses qualities of integrity, initiative, and good judgment with high ethical standards. Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
Work Conditions
Work 8-hour or 12-hour clinical shift. Use of online learning management system (LMS). Complete required onboarding process. Communicate with students, staff and colleagues. Other requirements as specified by a job description. Agency may require faculty attestation information.
