The mandate of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) is to foster increased flows of international investment by providing an impartial and effective international forum for the resolution of disputes between host governments and foreign investors.
As part of its mandate, ICSID maintains a robust data infrastructure to support case management, enhance transparency, and contribute to institutional knowledge through empirical research and analysis.

ICSID is seeking a Data Analyst to join its statistics team. The position requires fluency in English.
Role & Responsibilities:
The Data Analyst will be part of ICSID’s statistics team and contribute to key projects aimed at modernizing and streamlining data management and reporting processes. These efforts are essential to enhance operational efficiency, promote evidence-based decision-making, and publicly disseminate ICSID’s caseload data.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Undertake all tasks related to the management, production, and dissemination of ICSID’s statistical outputs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with institutional priorities.
2. Respond promptly to data and statistics requests from ICSID staff, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
3. Support the preparation and publication of ICSID’s bi-annual Caseload – Statistics and the Annual Report, including data validation, visualization, and interpretation.
4. Assist with accurate data entry and perform regular quality checks and validation procedures to maintain data integrity in ICSID IT systems.
5. Perform iterative user acceptance testing (UAT) against test cases and work with ITS to resolve functional issues, data gaps, and other issues identified. Document and summarize test results for review and sign-off.
6. Play an active role in the deployment of ICSID Self-Service Reports (SSR) to create custom reports in real-time and the development of the Centre’s Caseload Automation Project for the automated creation of the ICSID Caseload Statistics publication, including design, testing, and integration with editorial workflows.
7. Contribute to the ICSID Data Council and support ongoing coordination of IT and data initiatives, in alignment with strategic goals.
8. Support IT systems and IT transition from a data perspective.
9. Collaborate with legal and administrative teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency; propose to the Team Leader/IT project coordinator approaches to ensure practices meet operational and business needs.
10. Contribute to knowledge creation and sharing related to ICSID's activities within and outside the World Bank Group (WBG).
11. Perform additional tasks, including paralegal tasks, and assist with projects as assigned by the Team Leader, the Secretary-General or Deputy Secretary-General.
Selection Criteria
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in data analysis, preferably within an international organization in the context of international dispute resolution. Knowledge of arbitration practice, ICSID procedure and ICSID statistical publications would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required (proficiency in related statistical and presentational software will be a plus), and strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with database management and reporting systems, preferably in legal institutions.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to deliver proficient level of work independently.
• Proven ability to manage and analyze complex and interrelated datasets.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and reliable, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work under tight deadlines, and operate effectively in situations of high demands and pressure.
• Outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills; fosters collaboration and respects diverse perspectives. Ability to deal sensitively in multicultural environments and build effective working relationships with colleagues.
• Sense of responsibility, integrity and positive attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present and summarize ideas clearly, methodically, and concisely. Proficiency in French or Spanish is an asset.
• Familiarity with IT testing practices and/or digital transformation projects is an advantage.
• Strong service orientation and responsiveness to queries or requests, working to remove obstacles that may impede execution or overall success.
