GENERAL SUMMARY
The Test Scheduler is responsible for scheduling clinical tests and procedures (local anesthesia) for patients. The Test Scheduler must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner. Test Scheduler will multitask and handle obstacles with outstanding customer service skills.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Schedules clinical tests and procedures for patients either by phone or in person, based on the physician’s orders and the medical practice protocol in a timely manner
Utilizes appropriate technologies to match physician/facility availability with patient’s preferences in terms of date and time
Ensures proper prior authorization and insurance verification information was obtained prior to scheduling
Clearly communicates and educates patients about pre- and post-operative instructions
Communicates with physicians/clinicians and other staff about any patient concerns/issues
Communicates with patients regarding the scheduling process, delays, etc.
Returns phone calls from patients, regardless of the nature of the call, within a 24 hour timeframe
Creates patient procedure packets and posts on patient’s online portal or, when patient requests, mails via USPS mail
Collaborates with other departments to resolve any patient questions and issues
Create a positive working relationship among the physicians and KUS staff; demonstrate respect; proactively communicate with others
Handles all patient interactions politely and professionally
Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum one year of experience in medical practice setting, preferably in a test or surgical scheduling position.
