The Active Aerodynamics Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the design, development, and validation of active aerodynamic systems such as Active Grille Shutters (AGS) and Active Air Dams (AADs). The DRE is responsible for all aspects of Active Aerodynamics component design and validation and serves as the single point of contact throughout the life of the component. Job responsibilities include but not limited to designing and engineering components, maintaining a bill of material, releasing math data and drawings, creating and completing a validation plan, overseeing virtual and physical testing, managing suppliers, issuing change notices, supporting vehicle builds, performing issue resolution, and supporting PPAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine active aerodynamic systems considering quality, cost, timing, and performance objectives to meet targets.
Interface with Vehicle Engineering, Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, Assembly Plants, and others.
Perform product release and change management processes.
Direct packaging in vehicle environment ensuring requirements are met and coordinated with interfacing engineers.
Oversee component, system, and vehicle level virtual and physical test set-ups and testing.
Manage suppliers and extended team.
Support AQP, PSO, product launch, and ongoing maintenance of carryover product.
Lead issue root cause and resolution.
Perform benchmarking, competitive analysis, and investigations on new technology.
Support system integration and proper function with surrounding components, network communications, and Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
Aid in development of boundary diagrams, interface matrices, parameter diagrams, Design for Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVPR).
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
