Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the overall management of all Capital Projects, and the daily personnel management of his direct reports, while supporting the maintenance department, as needed. These activities include ensuring employee’s safe work practices, protecting of the environment, the accurate budgeting of projects, and project completion in a timely manner. This position must work with and support all other plant departments and personnel.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Manages and oversees all Capital Projects by following the company’s Capital Project Guidelines.
Ø Develops and manages the annual Capital Project budget for approval by the company’s cooperate Officers.
Ø Interfaces, assists, and solves problems in activities as required with the Quality and Care department, Process Manager, Manufacturing department, and the Administrative department.
Ø Continuously improves the safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
Ø Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to achieve the established company goals.
Ø Communicates and assists with the maintenance activities of the plant to support operation and new growth while establishing procedures, as necessary.
Ø Responsible for reviewing all completed (new or revised) documents, such as SOPs, Manuals, and checklists. Acts as the second approver in the generation of these documents.
Ø Communicates with Process and Manufacturing Managers and parent company’s technical support staff (ASPMD) concerning production processes, changing set points, data reviews, abnormal operating conditions, etc.
Ø Cooperates and shares all necessary information with other sites within the group.
Ø Coordinates with ASPMD for information sharing related to the following items - all related PM work, all measurement records, and reports on all major equipment problems. Shares and assists with the implementation of all Kaizen projects, as decided by the ASPMD.
Ø Conducts monthly project update meetings with corporate Officers to provide project updates.
Ø Communicates with Accounting, as needed, regarding payment approvals.
Ø Directly supervises Projects and Engineering Department, including administrative duties such as evaluation of employees.
Ø Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
Ø Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v A bachelor’s degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Masters preferred or Professional Engineer.
v 8-10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
v 8+ years of Project management experience of projects ranging in cost magnitude of $100k - $10MM.
v Project scheduling experience including:
§ Cost estimation
§ Procurement
§ Design (piping)
§ Construction
§ Equipment performance verification (validation)
v Ability to read the mechanical equipment/structural design drawings and P&IDs.
v Experience with SAP R/3 system.
v Experience with mechanical integrity testing. Familiarity with ASME code.
v Preferred experience with maintenance of rotating equipment.
v Excellent trouble shooting skills and the ability to use a logical approach to problem solving.
v Experience in computerized process operation, including automatic instrumentation equipment.
v Knowledge of Quality Assurance in a process plant.
v Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
v A full understanding of the ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
v Considerable ability to use computer software such as MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point.
v General office equipment including phones, fax, copier, personal computer (MS Word, Excel, & Outlook), SAP R/3, KRONOS, etc.Company Description
