SUMMARY:
Are you creative, social media savvy, and passionate about community engagement? Join our team as a Social Media & Marketing Lead! You'll help tell our story by photographing and filming District programs and parks, creating exciting digital content, and designing marketing materials that connect with our community.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
The Social Media and Marketing Lead is expected to work effectively under minimal supervision. Work within a framework of standard District policies and procedures.
EXAMPLE OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices:
Capture and edit photos and videos of events, programs, and parks
Create and schedule engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and more
Design digital and print materials (flyers, posters, newsletters)
Assist with e-newsletter production and digital outreach
Attend events to gather content and promote community programs
Support additional marketing and promotional tasks as needed\
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Experience or strong interest in photography, videography, social media, or marketing
Familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, and platforms like Instagram & Facebook
Strong written communication and design skills
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to local parks and event sites
Creativity, a collaborative attitude, and attention to detail
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants must be 18 years or older.
State law requires that the applicant selected for the position must complete the fingerprint process to check for or verify conviction record; TB test clearance is also required.
Must have reliable transportation to commute to park locations within the District.
Preferred possession of a valid class C California Driver's license.
Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends.
SCHEDULE AND PAY RATE:
0-20 hours per week
Generally, anywhere: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 9am – 6pm (Modified hours for events and other meetings when necessary)
This is a seasonal position, hours will vary weekly based on seasonal programs and event needs.
