A vacancy will exist for the 2025-2026 School Year for an Elementary School Principal within the Norristown Area School District at Marshall Street Elementary School.
This position serves as the chief administrator of the building and has responsibilities for the school's academic and educational programming and performance. This position drives the educational performance of the school, providing leadership, vision and strategic directions for curriculum, instruction, assessment and school improvement initiatives, overseeing professional development for all staff and supervising the operational and academic management of the building. This position requires a strong academic leader who has experience in the design, integration, implementation and management of building-wide systems to improve student outcomes, as well as knowledge of instructional practices and building operations/management.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in education from an accredited college or university
Minimum of three (3) years of educational administrative/leadership experience
PDE Principal Certification
Knowledge and ability to manage the budget process
Strong organizational skills and strategic planning skills, pro-social collaboration, communication and planning skills, and technology skills
Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
Ability to be flexible, self-directed, and motivated
Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with staff and students
Ability to do job responsibilities with minimal supervision and ability to schedule time to meet deadlines
Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI Essential Duties:
Develops, integrates and aligns all academic programming for the building
Develops and maintains clear and inclusive decision-making processes to ensure integration of academic supports and services, as well as effective ongoing technical and operational management of the building
Analyzes and uses multiple data sources to drive effective decision-making
Develops a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement conducive to student learning and professional growth, and empowers staff in the development and successful implementation of initiatives that better serve students, staff and the school
Systematically guides and supports staff though the change process
Balances educational consistency with appropriate autonomy at school, fostering the sharing of best practices and opportunities for collaboration at all levels
Fulfills the required evaluation of professional and administrative staff, while providing supports that will facilitate the growth and improvement of all employees
Supports school leaders to create and implement comprehensive plans that employ instructional visions and practical strategies to improve student achievement and narrows the achievement gap between racial, ethnic, and economic groups
Effectively manages building resources, including those made available through Federal Programs, to achieve established goals and priorities
Leads cross-functional teams within the building to implement operational policies that enables the school to maintain a safe and orderly environment that supports and maximizes student achievement
Builds the development of partnerships with leading educational and community organizations to support, complement, and enhance school programs

0-5 Years of Experience: $158,955.01
6-10 Years of Experience: $ 162,518.10
11-15 Years of Experience: $ 166,081.19
16-20 Years of Experience: $ 169,644.28
21-24 Years of Experience: $ 173,207.37
25+ Years of Experience: $ 180,274.27
