SUPERVISOR OF GENERATION

Job Standards

The Office of Public Utilities, Electric Division is seeking an individual to supervise all activities necessary to assure the efficient and continuous operational capabilities of the City's generating facility. Coordinate the daily manpower and activities of the generating stations, material handling, flue gas desulphurization system and wastewater treatment areas. Coordinate maintenance, operational and engineering functions of the generating facility to assure safe, timely and efficient resolution of problems. Investigate and evaluate the operating parameters of the generating facility and take the necessary corrective steps to maintain safe and efficient operating standards. This position requires a level of knowledge, skill, and intellectual development equivalent to the completion of two years of college coursework in engineering and industrial operations, combined with six years of experience in power plant generation—at least four of which must be in a supervisory role. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered. Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time residents.
