Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and technically skilled Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Water Infrastructure Group. This role focuses on the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater systems. Including treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, distribution and collection systems, and associated infrastructure.
You will work on a wide variety of complex, high-impact projects, from early-stage conceptual design through to detailed engineering and construction support. The position offers flexible working arrangements, a strong pipeline of public and private sector projects, and excellent opportunities for leadership and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead or support the design of water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution systems.
Lead or support the design of wastewater conveyance, treatment, and pumping systems.
Prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Perform hydraulic modeling, process design calculations, and site layout planning.
Conduct field investigations and assessments of existing systems.
Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders during all phases of the project lifecycle.
Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
Provide technical oversight and mentoring for junior engineers and drafters.
Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and presentations.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
5+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater design.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Proven experience in designing municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley WaterCAD/SewerCAD, or similar).
Strong knowledge of EPA, DEP, and local utility design standards and permitting processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
Experience with hydraulic modeling software and GIS integration.
Project Management experience (PMP or equivalent is a plus).
LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable infrastructure design practices.
