Construction Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to join our team! You will oversee bid creation, project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of construction project from bid creation to implementation

Allocate resources for assigned projects

Coordinate with onsite personnel and subcontractors

Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients

Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs

Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years previous experience in construction management or other related fields

Familiarity with construction management software

Previous experience with CAD software, civil modeling preferred

Strong leadership and qualities

Strong negotiation and organization skills

The company started out with less than 6 employees working on local subdivisions and small developments with the occasional work outside of the Quad Cities in Keota, Iowa and Fort Madison, Iowa. In 2021, Central Excavating expanded our field operation with the addition of a couple key office employees. At the same time, Central Excavating started to take on more work and larger work. Since 2021, Central Excavating has worked on multiple large-scale projects in Quad Cities and the surrounding area. These projects include but not limited to The Plex Phase 2 – Mass Grading, Iron Tee at The Plex, ORA at The Plex, Fair Oak Foods, St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, Clinton Wastewater Expansion, Multiple Iowa American Projects, Highland Ridge Subdivision, etc. Central Excavating currently employees hard working and skilled employees with the availability of over 80 pieces of equipment to complete any project.

At Central Excavating we specialize in large-scale mass grading and site utility projects. We work on projects ranging from residential to commercial projects to Wastewater Plants.
