The Terminal Operator, Tremley Point provides support for operations by maintaining and operating equipment and processes at our Midstream Terminal in Linden, NJ. The Terminal Operator will participate as an integral team member and will be a key contributor to the organization. Terminal Operators work a rotating 12 hour shift schedule known as EOWEO (every other weekend off), which includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities May Include:

Operating and maintaining equipment.

Responding to emergencies.

Ensuring the quality and quantity of refined products.

Following all policies, procedures, and other requirements, both internal and external (for example, DOT).

Keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures, and other requirements.

Completing administrative tasks including paperwork and electronic reporting and filing.

Staying current on required training.

Participating in emergency response exercises.

Identifying and resolving pipeline scheduling conflicts.

Monitoring controls and establishing safe valve line-ups for pipeline deliveries and receipts.

Maintaining effective and professional relationships with customers and responding promptly to their needs.

Performing environmental and regulatory checks.

Performing security and equipment facility rounds.

Assisting others with their training when needed.

Completing periodic inventory reconciliations (for example, loss/gain reports).

Performing permitting activities, such as Lock, Tag, & Try; Hot Work; Excavation; and Confined Space Entry.

Filling in as temporary Terminal Supervisor on occasion, once trained.

Condition of employment includes successful completion of entry-level testing – qualified candidates will be invited to complete an online SHL assessment immediately after applying.

Required Qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Valid driver’s license

Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Information can be found at

Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:

Climb ladders and stairs, raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds

Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain and work outside in harsh weather conditions

Occasionally work alone and travel 0-5% of the time, including some overnight travel

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.

Be on call, and work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays on an as-needed basis

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree or higher

Experience in the oil and gas industry

Experience in clean product terminals

Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)

Experience with OMNI flow computers

Working knowledge of process controls

Working knowledge of pressure and temperature transmitters

Working knowledge of refined products quality specifications

Working knowledge of rotating equipment (e.g. pumps, valves, motors)

Working knowledge of drive couplings (e.g. direct, belt, and magnetic)

Working knowledge of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

Working knowledge of PHMSA or EPA regulations

Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.

The base pay for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The starting rate for this position is $33.37 per hour. The rate increases at 6 months to $38.74 and fully qualified pay of $43.20 is reached after 18 months. All rates will increase 3.5% on October 1, 2025. This position has a 7.5% Variable Cash Incentive Program target, 8% 401k match, and Cash Balance Account pension.
