PGS Worldwide is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Microelectronics Wire Bonder for an exciting opportunity with a major aerospace and defense contractor in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. This full-time, hands-on position plays a vital role in the fabrication of high-reliability microelectronic assemblies used in mission-critical systems.

If you have experience in fine wire and ribbon bonding—or a strong interest in microelectronics—this is a great opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. This is a six month contract to hire.

Job Responsibilities

Perform precision wire and ribbon bonding on micro-circuit modules using manual and automatic bonders.

Operate microscopes, tweezers, and pneumatic tools for high-accuracy assembly work.

Follow written process documentation and assembly instructions (work instructions, schematics, visual aids).

Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools to verify bonding quality.

Maintain production data, logs, and task tracking using digital systems.

Support throughput, yield, and continuous improvement efforts within the assembly team.

Requirements

Experience with manual and/or automatic gold wire and ribbon bonding (preferred).

Ability to read and follow assembly work instructions, including visual aids and part drawings.

Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive electronics.

Strong manual dexterity and ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.

Comfortable using hand tools and light pneumatic equipment.

High school diploma or GED required.

Basic computer skills (for logging work, viewing instructions, timekeeping, etc.).

Must be eligible to begin interim security clearance (to be initiated at offer stage).

Nice to Have

Experience in a cleanroom or high-precision electronics environment.

Familiarity with J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or related industry standards.

Prior defense, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing experience.
