We're hiring a Director of Engineering to join the team at Connexus Energy.

This role will lead the Engineering Department and be responsible for the accuracy, productivity, effectiveness, and quality of distribution substation engineering, construction, and maintenance; and electric system planning and engineering.

This role will support the Strategic Plan of Connexus Energy by developing the critical path, and managing and implementing enterprise-wide systems, procedures, and projects.

Location: Work for this position can be performed both on-site at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303, and from your local home office as duties require.

While this position is designated as a hybrid role, based on current policy, hires must reside in or relocate within commuting distance to our office in Ramsey, MN.

Compensation Anticipated hiring pay is between $162,600-$213,360 annually.

The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level.

In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 14% based on company performance.

In this position you will: * Oversee the reliability of the electric distribution system and work to continuously improve system reliability.

* Provide technical assistance to engineering and distribution staff by monitoring and maintaining our specifications and standards and performing long and short-term studies while considering future growth.

* Oversee our substation engineering, construction, and maintenance activities; as well as electric system inspection and maintenance activities; and electrical equipment repair, maintenance, and configuration.

* Manage the distribution automation function and provide technical direction and assistance to staff, including overseeing ongoing maintenance and project updates with ADMS.

* Manage ongoing operations of department to ensure department effectiveness.

* Establish and maintain the department budget, identifying all expenditures and monitoring the budget throughout the year.

* Lead the strategic thinking and project management of enterprise-wide projects supporting our strategic direction.

* Administer the acquisition of substation and other corporate properties.

* Collaborate with Union Stewards, Union Business Agents, Employee Services and Connexus Energy management to negotiate and administer agreements outlined in the Union contract to maximize productivity and engagement of the workforce.

Need to have: * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering * Ten years' progressive experience in engineering for a distribution utility * Experience or formal training in people management, project management and financial management * Professional Engineering License * Current and valid driver's license Nice to have: * Master's degree Pre-Employment Requirement: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screen Based in Ramsey, Connexus Energy is Minnesota's largest electric cooperative, providing electricity, renewable energy alternatives and related services to 147,000+ residential and commercial members just north of the Twin Cities.
