NATURE OF WORK
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the administration and support of Human Resources activities including, but not limited to, record-keeping and file maintenance, employee recruitment and hiring, paid time off tracking, payroll, employee engagement, performance evaluation, compensation and benefits administration, and ensuring that the company remains in full compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Hiring
Create and maintain updated job descriptions for all positions
Create, place & monitor all job postings (internal/external)
Ensure all employment listings are accurate and up to date
Track advertising costs
Coordinate and participate in the interview process
Request and review applicant background checks
Produce and deliver offer letters
Create and maintain new-hire personnel files
Complete the onboarding process for new employees
Online employee setup
Benefits Enrollment
Orientation and Training
Training & Orientation
Coordinate training and orientation for new employees
Ensure all employee licenses and certificates are up to date
Identify training opportunities for existing employees and assist Department Directors with implementation
Salary & Benefits Administration
Ensure accuracy of earnings and deductions related to hourly wages, paid time off, insurance benefits, direct deposit, etc.
Manage employee benefits such as health and dental insurance, retirement plan contributions (403B), workers compensation, paid time off, FMLA and short and long-term disability (STD/LTD)
Coordinate annual open enrollment for health/dental insurance
Review and process benefit-related monthly billings and resolve discrepancies as needed
Produce and distribute reports for management as requested
Monitor salary structures and benefits
Employee Relations
Manage employee relations with Department Directors, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and dispute resolution.
Advise Department Directors on organizational policy matters such as Equal Employment Opportunity laws.
Monitor organizational practices and recommend changes as needed
File Management and Regulatory Compliance
Maintain Human Resources Information System records
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
Conduct annual salary surveys and work with the Director of Operations & Comptroller on salary budget
Provide unemployment/employment verifications
Maintain updated organizational chart
Other
Attain technical proficiency in all related CHDC systems and applications
Participate in special projects as assigned
Provide organizational support as needed
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related educational experience
3-5 years direct Human Resources Management experience
Strong customer service orientation and positive approach to handling challenging issues
Proficiency with Human Resources software
Technology literacy including MS Office with strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency
Knowledge of Monday.com or other task management software a plus
Knowledge of general HR principles, payroll practices, and applicable government regulations
Heavy organizational skills and administrative expertise with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work independently on deadline-driven tasks
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties
Strong written and verbal professional communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage competing priorities
Experience working with diverse populations
Spanish speaking a plus
