F/T Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Job Description

Required knowledge of person centered, strength-based counseling, and recovery planning using ASAM criteria. Also requires good communication, writing, and organizational skills and a working knowledge of MS Office. Must have Addictions Counselor certification, a related professional license, or be eligible to obtain either within the required time frame. A minimum of 12 months of continuous sobriety is required for persons recovering from a substance use disorder. Submit to DHS Schedule L background checks and meet the eligibility requirements for employment. Experience in substance use disorder treatment, degree in Human Services related field, and Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Person-centered counseling and education services

Person-centered support, recovery coaching, and care coordination while carrying a caseload as needed in the absence of a case manager

Completion of all required documentation

Attending meetings, in-services, and conferencesCompany Description
