Job Summary

The Director of Services is responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) that meet regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. This role includes supervising HCBS coordinators, managing direct reports, overseeing service delivery for programs such as Day Habilitation, Supported Employment, and leading efforts to ensure compliance and empower staff development. This position reports to the President/CEO and is a member of Progress Industries' Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

Commitment to the mission, purpose, and philosophy of Progress Industries.

Lead and develop management teams aligned with agency standards and compliance.

Supervise and support direct reports to ensure quality outcomes for individuals served.

Guide staff development to meet competency expectations.

Address financial concerns with appropriate corrective actions.

Oversee the Individual Support Plan (ISP) process and quality assurance.

Support development and implementation of service contracts.

Coordinate external audits and regulatory expectations.

Ensure safety and sanitation at service sites through regular visits.

Conduct job evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and training.

Support staff with a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Assist with budget planning and financial recovery strategies.

Minimum Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral sciences and one year post degree experience in the delivery, planning, coordination or administration of human services; or a minimum of 7 years progressive experience in the delivery, planning, coordination or administration of human services with emphasis on supervision, program design/development, regulatory compliance, strategic planning and policy creation and implementation.

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

Effective communication and sound decision-making abilities.

Valid Iowa Driver's License with a clean driving record and private automobile with required insurance ($100,000/$300,000/$50,000).

Must reside within 60 minutes of program sites.

Availability for on-call assistance during emergencies.

Proficiency in computer skills is relevant to job duties.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, with flexibility to support team needs on evenings and weekends as necessary.
