The Senior Scientist is the subject matter expert in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics and will support several research programs in the company. This hybrid role is based in our South San Francisco, CA office.

Design in vivo pharmacokinetic studies in preclinical species, write and review study protocols.

Coordinate and collaborate with CROs and internal cross-functions to request quotes, supply materials for studies, provide scientific input, and monitor study activities.

Provide problem solving in the development of bioanalytical methods and the analysis of samples for large molecules.

Analyze pharmacokinetic data with Phoenix.

Interpret pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) data in support discovery/development projects.

Communicate and present PK results to cross-functional program teams.

Participate in discovery/development project teams.

Contribute to the preparation and review of study reports and documents for regulatory submissions.Qualifications

REQUIRED

PhD degree with four years of relevant industry experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Proficiency in reading and writing in both Chinese and English.

PREFERRED

Good understanding of PK and ADME concepts.

Hands-on experience in, but not limited to, pharmacokinetics.

Ability to use Phoenix and other data management software.

Experience in PK/PD analysis, design, interpretation, simulation.

Hands-on experience in the development of bioanalytical methods in support of preclinical PK studies for large molecules.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Additional Information

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $160K and $180K/year. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including corporate bonus and equity awards. In addition Zai Lab offers a robust benefits package which includes comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) with company match, family advocacy programs, and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
