Survey Project Manager
GBA’s Survey Group is currently seeking a Survey Project Manager in our Lenexa / Southlake office. This person will effectively lead and manage field and office survey projects to ensure quality performance by the field crew and project team.
Responsibilities:
Primarily managing and performing DOT land surveying projects, KDOT and MODOT experience preferred
Managing and performing land surveying projects, Topographical Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys
Working with field survey crews and office technicians to develop a high-performing team
Ability to prepare survey scopes and cost estimates
Ability to perform project work in Microstation
Review work performed by survey technicians in Microstation
Knowledge and ability to prepare rights-of-way, easement, and dedication documents
Knowledge and ability to interpret engineering plans accurately
Maintain baseline standards in survey notes, point descriptions, and calculations
Work directly with the client to ensure scope and deadlines are met, and addressing client needs and concerns
Providing field documentation to survey crews in anticipation of office needs
Provide direction to and follow up with survey crews and CAD Techs in office
Maintain project files to include all notes, research, and survey documents
Assist other departments as necessary to complete work on time and under budget
Manage deadlines to ensure that a quality product is delivered on time
Prepare or direct preparation of client deliverables, ensure QA/QC process has been completed prior to deliverable going to the next level
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Associates degree AND 10+ years of experience OR a combination of education and experience
Preferred PLS License
Driver's license with clean driving record
Experience in surveying project management including final deliverable production of survey documents in a Microstation environment
Experienced with client management, proactive staff utilization and progress reporting
Experienced with boundary determinations, legal descriptions, geodetic and plane survey calculations, and quality review of geospatial deliverables
Experience with survey computations and platting using Microstation, as well as field experience with GPS, Terrestrial LiDAR and conventional field equipment
Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
