As Operations Technician Lead, you’ll be a subject matter specialist, leading team projects associated with pipeline operations, equipment maintenance, governmental compliance, technical standards and more. Troubleshooting, problem-solving and accurate record-keeping are a must and a focus on safety are keys to success in this role!

A Day in the Life:

In this role, you will maintain one of Williams’ largest installations of horsepower and power distribution equipment. You will gain valuable skills in the operation and maintenance of gas turbines, high-speed reciprocating engines, medium voltage generators, power distribution systems, environmental controls, and station distributed control systems. You’ll find opportunities to step up and become a respected leader amongst your peers and various Williams teams. As part of the Maintenance team, you will find yourself supporting Brownfield construction projects, assisting in operations, safely maintaining equipment, and analyzing data to resolve technical and operational problems. Your knowledge of Safe Work Management practices, Life Critical work including MOC/PSSR process, work planning, work permitting, accurate record-keeping, and a focus on safety will bring success in this role!

For an Operations Technician Lead

Responsibilities/Expectations:

Supervises the development and implementation of pipeline operations, equipment maintenance and safety, including technical standards and governmental requirements

Serves as a subject matter specialist, providing technical or operational guidance to the team, including troubleshooting problems using existing precedents and procedures

Leads team projects or assignments of major scope or complexity that impact profitability

Follows Company policies and appropriate operating and maintenance procedures

Coordinates protection of community, personnel, environment and assets

Coordinates awareness of site/location/equipment specific permits and compliance

Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records

Provides mentorship to team members

Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum eight (8) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician in the oil and gas industry

Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and minimum eight (8) years of progressive operations technician experience within a natural gas processing or compression facilities

Physical and Environment Work Requirements:

Must be willing to:

Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces

Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed

Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time

Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)

Use hand tools

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as needed

May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays

Other Requirements:

Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record

Demonstrates aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes

Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills and proficient/advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers

Performs a variety of tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations, including technical standards and governmental requirements

Carries out moderate to highly sophisticated technical assignments as prescribed by leader, analyzing data to resolve issues

Reads and interprets drawings; drafts operations and maintenance procedures

Follows all of our policies and applies appropriate procedures

Coordinates protection of community, personnel, environment and assets

Oversees general knowledge of site/location/equipment specific permits and compliance

Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records

Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

Required: High School Diploma/GED; a minimum six (6) years of demonstrated ability as an Operations Technician for similar equipment or facility

Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree; a minimum six (6) years of multifaceted operations technician experience within a natural gas processing or compression facility

Physical and Environment Work Requirements:

Must be willing to:

Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces

Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
