Core Job Responsibilities:
The Porter is responsible for maintaining the VIVA! kitchen. This position will clean and sanitize the kitchen equipment, dining ware, and food preparation areas, as well as dispose of waste.
Primary Job Duties: – Includes, but is not limited to:
Ensure all dining ware, kitchen equipment, kitchen surfaces, and floors are clean and sanitized throughout the outlet.
Empty, wash, and return waste receptacles throughout outlet.
Breakdown and organize cardboard boxes for recycling.
Operate mechanical vehicles for transporting large bins of product under strict safety guidelines.
Keep wash area and mop closets clean and organized.
Assist with any special cleaning projects, as assigned.
Adhere to safe handling, usage, and storage requirements of all chemicals and notify manager on duty when items need to be replenished.
Participate in pre-shift meetings.
Address any major odors and safety issues, as it relates to broken glassware and spills, in a prompt manner.
Take corrective action and notify management of any issues with the facility, equipment, or safety hazards.
Maintain a clean, sanitized and safe working environment in all food and beverage areas.
Maintain the proper operation of cleaning equipment/dish machines daily.
Adhere to VIVA! company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and handbook.
Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
At least six months of experience in Stewarding or in a similar heavy-duty cleaning field.
Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Polished appearance and demeanor.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
